Generally speaking, you should aim with your sight when killling an enemy, but there are scenarios where you just do not have enough time to aim. If you have been stunned, it will more than twice as long to aim down your sight, and in close quarters gameplay, you will probably have died before you have aimed. If you're in this position then i would recommend not aiming and shoot instead using steady hip-fire. You will have a much greater chance of defending yourself when in this position. Other circumstances include close quarters maps, where the rooms are tight - you can not use your sight. I'm not saying don't use your sight, but if you know your in a small room you can use common sense and not aim. I recommend using SMG's and assault rifles for these. Steady aim will is dead accurate when doing this. Only no-scope with a sniper if your under fire at close range - not recommended for anything apart from having fun no-scope sessions with friends. However, if your dead set on no-scoping, it's a skill that needs to be trained. Steady aim should always be on with a no-scoping. There is quick-scoping for snipers as well, which is when you half aim, or aim briefly for your shots - again this a skill which needs practice. On the other end of the scale, in long distance shots, you should aim with your scope/sight of course. If you see an enemy at distance: aim slightly above torso and fire. Take your time with these shots. 3 Burst fire weapons will kill the enemy in 2 hits with stopping power (M16, famas). DROPSHOTS - INTERMEDIATE/HARDCORE These are shots where you shoot an enemy at the same time and go prone (to the floor) so that the enemy has to change his aim. All the top players will do dropshots, and it is a very hard technique to master. I don't even do them tbh.

when sniping, don't use thermal unless you're fishing out all the campers- makes it really slow

This should be a sticky with all other tutorials. Here's a tip for all of you. Cut a little corner of a yellow post-it-note and stick it to the tv in the exact location of the guns aim sight. This way when your using a rifle or run and gunning, and have no time to aim, this will help you point where you should be shooting.

Would have to make the paper so small that its noticable, but barely covers any of the screen. I think it could be doable, but ill only test it when im guaranteed nobody will walk in.... that would look a bit ghey.

lol. i've not heard of the "post-it-note" method before, but it seems better than putting tape on your tv and drawing a red dot- the "kill-dot" method for snipers. these are some good suggestions-we should make a youtube video on how not to be noob on MW2.

it kinda helps as then you always know your centre screen esp for hip firing try to line that dot with your target and then most shots will hit

lol I remember when I was playing counter strike and I was trying to no-scope because there honestly isnt enough time to scope kill in gungame mode. Some guy told me to put a sticker in the middle of the screen - never did that, felt a bit like cheating and I feel geeky enough as it is haha

Hmm.. I'd just suggest theese tips: Automated weapons: Start shooting when you see someone, and then while you are shotting pull your scope up. Basicly, this gives you the first 1 or 2 bullets, and then aiming in you hit the last/rest. Non automatic, line up your shot, shoot & scope in at the same time Snipers, Hard/drag scope if you can, else do as mentioned above. Spas 12, if your enemy is far away and you got a scope, then aim in and shoot (this can slightly increase your range) Akimbos, Just frigging shoot And finally, if you use steady aim, with any weapon exept intervention, fire your shot, check your closest cover, aim in if you got time, if not take cover and then repeat. Probably will keep you alive, and hit more targets. Also the beauty of this is, while you are aiming in, you also use the aiming help given by the game (automaticly aim to the enemy) unless they have cold blood pro.
